What to do with the kids this Summer - Cutty Sark - Deck & Captain's Quarters - Greenwich, London

Here is the second and last part of the Cutty Sark's photo album.
We are looking at the deck and some of the Captain's quarters.

The bow and some impressive rigging

This is the entrance to Greenwhich Pedestrian tunnel
It links Greenwhich to the Isle of Dogs underneath the Tames.
The project was started in 1899 and completed in 1902

The Captain's Saloon : A beautiful skylight (left)
Interesting gimballing glass and bottle holder above the table (Right)

Quite a difference between the heads on the deck and the Captain's private head

The preparation area in the galley (Left)
The apprentices' cabin.  An apprentice was a boy, as young as 14; training for a career in the   Merchant Navy (Right)

  1. I've often walked past the Cutty Sark, but never been on board. Looks like there's plenty to see.

On the other hand, this is one of the most comfortable ship I have ever seen (From that era or before!)
