Ditch your TV provider, move to Netflix

A couple of years ago, I fell out with Sky; big time !
Long story, moving from disappointments to disappointments I will not bore you with.

From then on, I swore never to pay for a TV subscription, with Sky or anyone else as long as money is tight.

I was putting an average of £65 every months in Sky's pockets and they treated me badly when I had a problem.

After all, who needs an extra package when you get Freeview ?

January 2012, I started hearing about Netfilx; a new service of video on demand with a monthly subscription allowing you to watch unlimited movies and TV programs.
I knew about the LoveFilm package but found it very user-unfriendly.

So I signed up for a free trial with Netflix . . . and never went back.

At first, I was concerned about my Internet provider capping my allowance for using too much bandwidth and data.
Well, Netflix lets you choose the video quality and bandwidth you use :

Modern Beijing Photo Album

I visited Beijing last Summer.
Staying in the Chaoyang District, near the CCTV building I thought I would start with some modern and usual pictures of Beijing

I arrived jet-lagged, took a cab to the hotel to check in, had a bath and nap before going out for supper.
WOW, bleary eyed from the fatigue; here I stand in front of this giant 250 x 30m; yes Metres LED screen. It is simply called "The Place".
Oh YES, China does like it bigger and better nowadays.

Viakal Limescale remover - Review

As all my London followers will sympathise, limescale is a big problem in Inner London.
Kitchen sinks look really bad just a day after the last clean. And if you don't use any product specific to limescale but a general kitchen cleaner . . . Good luck to you little Home Fairies !

4 red zones : >21C dH : The hardest water on the scale !

As part of a Super Savvy Circle campaign, I was given a bottle of Viakal limescale removal spray to trial.

I have been a regular user of the Viakal limescale removal gel for 15 years and it has always worked wonders on my London kitchen sinks.
So how does the spray compare ?

Win beauty prizes; swap unwanted beauty items and get loads of tips and bargains from FreeBeauty.TV

A couple of years ago, I discovered FreeBeauty.tv
Back then it was mostly a forum for all things relating to beauty.

What I found most attractive was the lesser-known product showcased.
They made me discover brilliant products such as the Blinc mascara
A mascara with a difference !

From blinc's website:
"blinc is the original mascara invented to form tiny water-resistant "tubes" around your lashes rather than painting them like conventional mascaras. Once applied, these beauty tubes bind to your lashes and cannot run, smudge, clump, or flake, even if you cry or rub your eyes.  Whether your daily activities take you from the office, to your sweaty workout and then out to dinner, your lashes will look as good in the evening as they did when you first applied blinc in the morning."

Another brilliant idea from FreeBeauty.tv was the Swap shop.

You are a beauty addict, keep on buying products and find you never use them.
Don't throw them ! Swap them for free on FreeBeauty's website.

Last January, the site moved on the a magazine format.

Lee Kum Kee - Premium Oyster flavoured sauce - Chicken with Oyster sauce recipe

I recently won a hamper of Lee Kum Kee product for posting a recipe on their website.
The hamper consisted of 2 small Chinese cookery books (one was Oyster sauce only), 2 bottles of Teriyaki marinade, 1 bottle of Premium Oyster sauce, 1 jar of chilli oil, 2 bags and 2 cute aprons.

The cookbooks are great as they not only give recipes but some insight into Chinese food and cooking.

So last night, I decided to try one of their recipe : Chicken with Oyster sauce and spring onions

 Level of difficulty : Easy

Cooking Method : Stir Fry

Servings : 2 to 4

L'Oreal - Youth Code Lumizing Serum

What does the bottle says ? :

Not radiating your usual fresh, youthful glow? What if you had the code to unify irregular skin tone and re-awaken a more even, luminous complexion?

*In vitro test
Effective Results
Immediately, skin is intensely hydrated, with a dewy look.
  • In 1 week, irregular pigmentation begins to appear reduced. Skin looks fresher and brighter.
  • In 1 month, complexion irregularities appear reduced. Skin looks more even and luminous.
Unique Texture
The luxurious texture feels light, silky and intensely hydrating. It penetrates the skin instantly to provide a sensation of intense hydration with a sheer, dewy finish.

What do I say ?

Bzz Agent - Marketing campaign for new products

My favourite in its category

As a Hussy Housewives, I looooove to try new products.

Unfortunately, being so fickle can be very expensive as I tend to try any products I find in shops (according to my preference and budget).

Recently, I found a great website : https://www.bzzagent.co.uk
WOW, they send me new products, I spread the word and write honest reviews and if I am good, they will send me some other products to try.
